If the Mayans were worth a damn in the art of prophecy they would have known simply inventing one of the world's first mathematically accurate calendars and ending it on some randomly selected date in the future, a prophet does not one make. If they were the astute prophets that they never actually claimed to be, but some whack job weirdos that spent way too much time hitting the opium packed pipe one night decided they were-then they would have known the only surefire way to predict the end to anything is via Alistair Overeem.
That's right, Alistair Overeem is now the official prophet of MMA, or at least the prophet of UFC 155. OK, fine-he's only actually the prophet of the JDS-Velasquez fight but his accuracy end prediction rate is 100% better than the Mayans so that counts for something. If you need solid proof of Overeem's ability to foretell the future just check out our article from November 30th, 2012 in which Overeem predicted exactly how the Junior dos Santos vs Cain Velasquez fight would end.
"Cain is going to take care of him for me, unfortunately. Junior is going to get taken down. He’s going to get ground-and-pounded."
"...he’s going to have his hands full with Cain. He’s going to lose."
Yet even in victory of precise prediction, Overeem doesn't gloat over his abundant endowment of prophetic skill. No, instead he merely takes to twitter for a few lighthearted comments on the fight:
Such an admirable guy that Alistair Overeem, and now we can add Reemadomous to his ever growing list of adulatory nicknames. [Source]
