The Men’s Open division was the crown jewel on day two of the 2024 Arnold Classic closing out the show on Saturday, March 2. In the end, it was Hadi Choopan’s night as he shined with dry conditioning, thin skin, and dominant back shots. Samson Dauda and Rafael Brandao finished second and third place.
The 2024 Arnold Sports Festival invaded Columbus, Ohio from February 29 to March 3 inside the spacious Greater Columbus Convention Center. Atop the weekend extravaganza at the Men’s Open titans Hadi Choopan and Samson Dauda, who recently placed second and third at the last Mr. Olympia competition.
In the finals, Hadi Choopan came out with a display of his razor-sharp conditioning, which he is known for. However with Samson Dauda’s massive frame and improved back shots, it turned into an incredibly close contest. Hadi Choopan ultimately closed the show and became the new Men’s Open champion.

Samson Dauda entered this event as the reigning 2023 Arnold Classic champion and had every intention of walking away from Columbus, Ohio as a two-time titleholder. His third place finish at Olympia has solidified him as a top Men’s Open contender in the 2024 landscape. In addition, Dauda had considerable hype behind him thanks to a pair of victories in Europe at the 2023 Romania Muscle Fest Pro and EVLS Prague Pro.
However, it appeared Hadi Choopan aimed to bring an all-time best look to the stage. Trained by Hany Rambod, Choopan continues to redefine his career with awe-inspiring performances. ‘The Persian Wolf’ last took second place at the latest Mr. Olympia to Derek Lunsford. After an intense battle, Hadi Choopan emerged with gold. Samson Dauda took second and Rafael Brandao placed third.
