- Kamaru Usman commended Dana White for the success of UFC 300
- “The Nigerian Nightmare” thinks the UFC boss one-upped UFC 300 critics
Kamaru Usman is happy to see UFC president Dana White proved UFC 300’s critics wrong.
What a round for Dana
Speaking on his Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry podcast, “The Nigerian Nightmare” raved about how White shut naysayers up with the massive success of UFC 300. For Usman, the milestones that UFC 300 achieved speaks volumes about why White is the best promoter in combat sports history.
“He just goes to show you again he’s like, I’m the best promoter for a reason,” Usman said of the UFC boss. “I’m the best promoter for a reason and here, let me show you the numbers. Everybody talked (expletive) about UFC 300, ‘oh it’s not what we want, it’s not what we got, blah blah blah, this and that’ but the numbers don’t lie and Dana wanted to put you, us, front and center with the numbers. Dana is like ‘y’all don’t know what y’all talking about, y’all stick to sitting on the couch talking while I stick to making these amazing fights’ and yep, Dana definitely 10-7ed the media with that one.”

UFC 300 was a blockbuster event
Indeed, White was right as UFC 300 turned out to be one of the best, if not the best event the promotion has ever pulled off. Despite MMA experts doubting the star power of the card’s fights, UFC 300 finished with a wide array of impressive accolades, including largest UFC event attendance in T-Mobile Arena history, most watched prelims in ESPN history, 3.2 million increase in followers on UFC social media platforms and best social media performance in UFC history.
While UFC 300 turned out to be a blockbuster event, UFC 302 and 303 are also expected to be successful with a host of big-name fighters included in the cards.
Islam Makhachev will defend his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier to headline UFC 302, while Conor McGregor is finally making his return at UFC 303 to face Michael Chandler.
