UFC 112 wasn't a fluke nor was it the result of a poor decision by the judges. Frankie Edgar proved that he is a better fighter than BJ Penn, twice. It's a lot to ingest at this point in the night and you may cling onto the brim of a toilet and regurgitate it later tonight, but Frankie Edgar is the best lightweight in MMA. We all just need to accept this fact as part of our lives.

In every aspect of tonight's title fight, Frankie Edgar outclassed BJ Penn. Nullifying takedowns, countering punches, even submission defense. It's as if you discovered the tooth fairy was just a means for your parents to put dollar bills under your pillow while you slept. I'm pretty sure BJ Penn could slap my mother and I would still be on the BJ Penn bandwagon. This will never change. However, Frankie Edgar is an unstoppable force at 155lbs.

With tonight's win, Frankie Edgar will step in the octagon with the only guy to hand him a defeat; I'm not sure who will win, but I can assure you that it will go to a decision. Props to Frankie Edgar on reassuring the world why he is the most dominant 155lber out there. Now I'll let all of you speculate what's next for BJ Penn...

that was a pretty exciting fight for me. I live in Toms River and we were all rooting for him (obviously). I actually watched the fight at home with the trainer from Toms River High School East (frankie's high school) who was also pretty excited. The world better watch out for toms river, and jersey in general, we mean business lol

I'm not sure that Frankie Edgar is the best lightweight in MMA, actually. What we may have here is a Maia, Marquardt, Sonnen situation at lightweight. As in: just like Maia would regularly beat Sonnen, who would regularly beat Marquardt, who would regularly beat Maia, I think Edgar would regularly beat BJ, who would regularly beat Maynard, who would regularly beat Edgar. I think, in other words, that it's a pretty close call for #1 lightweight. Am I crazy?

Errrr...it only shows that either Frankie has BJ's number or that BJ is too dump and settled down to come up with a new gameplan even after already spending 25 minutes with him in the cage.

No legkicks to slow him down, no takedowns, no BJJ from the bottom.

Very sad BJ...jump off more cliffs & out of more pools next time as preparation... & carrying more rocks underwater can't hurt as well.

Too bad that such a greater fighter is being pampered by his team to the point that he can't realize that he has to change some things. And might need a gameplan.

Great adive as well from his team during the fight.

The only man that beat BJ Penn is... BJ Penn. That cornering by his "Yes men" was pathetic. He needs a new training camp that'll treat him like any other fighter & not the great BJ Penn. Edgar vs. Maynard II is gonna be a snooooze fest. Maynard will win that fight, by decision (shocking I know, right?). Lay & Pray is the way!
