Thiago Alves is fighting John Howard at UFC 124 and we're all going to like it

A couple of days ago on MMAJunkie radio, Mike Pierce called out Thiago Alves and had some pretty decent smack talk regarding Alves on Facebook. On Twitter, Pierce said 'This place is as dead as Thiago Alves' and 'Thiago Alves to be featured on Biggest Loser on Dec 23rd'. He even asked Dana to gi...

KJ Noons thinks Nick Diaz is a trash-talking, pot-smoking chump

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Nick Diaz and KJ Noons rivalry, the beef started back in Elite XC where a controversial doctor stoppage handed Diaz his only loss in the past 3 years. Winning a fight due to a doctor stoppage in the first round is a lot like winning a competitive ea...

Karo Parisyan is BACK in the UFC!

I could be looking too far into it, but when Dana says that you '[Expletive] the UFC' by pulling out of the fight the day before weigh-ins, it looks like that may denote a lifetime ban. In fact, it did constitute a lifetime ban in the promotion, but in ZUFFA years, a lifetime is only ten months....

Overeem accepts Fedor's challenge, plans to fight him after K-1

The greatest thing about Alistair Overeem accepting Fedor's challenge to fight him after he's done with the K-1 Grand Prix is that he actually watched a Bloodstain Lane video on a message board and responded. Next step for Alistair Overeem is to accept my friend request on Xbox Live. The guy plays...

Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi may get the next Strikeforce title shots, despite coming off losses

Hoelzer Reich is inspired by Nazi imagery and you're an idiot for supporting them PDF Print E-mail
Written by Zeus
Tuesday, 08 December 2009 09:18

A couple of weeks ago, Cat wrote an amazing story on Hoelzer Reich and it's 'Hey, look at me, I'm a Nazi' design. Recently at the The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, Joe Brammer decided to be sponsored by the company and...he lost via rear naked choke. The past few days I've been debating with boneheads to get them to realize just how offensive this MMA clothing brand is and I always get the nonsensical...'Well Cain Velasquez has a 'Brown Pride' tattoo'. There aren't enough letters on a keyboard to tell you how vastly different those two examples are.

For those of you who still insist on defending a MMA clothing company inspired by Nazi imagery, check out this compilation of facts. Props to the UG.

it cant be nazi imagery not at all. i mean the company only advertises showing death skulls, the double lightning bolts, calling themselves the 4th reich, constanly showing nazi like symbols or phrases no that cant in anyway possiblely relate to neo-nazism or nazism in general

If someone would print the "F" word with the two "gg's" in the middle on a shirt - they would get banned instantly - let alone make it out of the parking lot alive.

Same goes for wearing white pointy hoods in a black neighborhood.
But if someone glorifies nazi symbols that had the same racist ideology behind it noone speaks up because noone knows.

Let me tell you that those shirts sicken me and i'm a german and i'm not proud what happened here some 70 years ago.
The second word war did cost some 100 million ppl's their lifes because of some greedy, crazy, ignorant and racist guys.

Ignoring those f'ucking t-shirts is almost as bad as the t-shirt and the ideology behind it.

Ban that sick nazi sh!t !!!

Talk about making mountains out of molehills. Whether it's nazi imagery or not, who cares? Do we no longer have freedom of expression anymore? Are we gonna dig up the old KISS albums to show their double lightning bolt letters S? Oooo, their nazis too! Even if it is nazi imagery, I think it's fine if someone wants to wear it. I wouldn't wear it, but why shouldn't they be able to? Let the MMA public decide if it's acceptable. The nazis were demonized by war propaganda (common during wartime) and didn't commit half the atrocities they're accused of. Everything about them was aggrandized into fantastical and fictitious proportions in order to generate a strong morale and hatred for the then current enemy - including falsified evidence which is so easily disproved. Unfortunately, even now, 60 years after the war, people still believe the tired old war propaganda and have a purely visceral reaction, rather than a rational one, to any nazi or nazi-esque imagery. But fortunately, educated people will have a better understanding and not be so thin-skinned and easily offended by some alleged nazi imagery. Let's not be chicken-little alarmists over some pictures ... we're not muslims in Denmark are we?

Your one of those believe'ers thats thinks the holicast didn't happen right? ....rigghhtt. I guess you have inside info that people didn't have when they were in the war or when they were THERE. You want North America to be a land for your own people well to fuckin bad, Black People were dragged here and inslaved. They have more of a right to be here than us white people that robbed it of the indians. Which was 100% THEIRS. You twisted screwball.

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

So go back to fuckin Denmark!

I hate the fact that it's ok for someone to wear a Che shirt or black panthers (which is still listed as a terrorist group by the FBI) or even Black/Brown or Yellow pride but goddamn the white guy who is proud to be white.
Do the shirts look kinda Nazi? Yes, so fucking what, it's america wear what you want..it's not like then shirt says "kill the jews" get over it.

Freedom of expression does not mean that you are free from responsibility for the expression you make. If people choose to express themselves in a non-acceptable way, there is usually a monetary punishment. You may choose to express yourself however you like, but people are free to refuse to support your activities. Those who are sponsored by this group must accept that their expression will be seen as counter-culture, and therefore not a financially viable choice for those who pay the bills. If someone is willing to pay for their expression, then their decision has been validated by our free markets. All people are free to make the determination of their own actions, and accept the ramifications (both positive and negative) of their choices.

So you mean to tell me that the holocaust didn't happen? I surely hope you aren't another one of those people who also think we filmed the lunar moon landing. I'm sorry but there was genocide committed at a mass scale, based on Nazi ideology and a crazy leader. It happened... period. I may not have ran around in Germany during the early 1900's but there are some things that even a lot of propaganda won't change.

Should we allow the shirts to be sold in the US...yes. Would I buy one or ever befriend someone who does ... no. Yes, Nazi ideology is wrong by most if not all moral standards.

I wasn't going to get involved in this but after reading the comments i feel i must.

I'm black and I know this. The Black Power movement and the Black Panther movement was more about hating "the man" and spreading propaganda about being separatists and other hateful nonesense than it was about actually empowering black people.

Now I think it's time people stop defending hate. The Nazi Party claim to fame was the holocaust, I don't care what else they did or said that was positive they're responsible for the cold blooded murders and torture and attempted genocide of millions of people.

Anyone who supports the Nazis doesn't deserve our support.

The fact that this clothing brand made it into main-stream MMA is ridiculous.
Out of respect of their rights for free speech and all that, I don't care whether or not they exist. I'm sure there's plenty of anti-semitic clothing brands out there that nobody is aware of, but this kind of apparel appearing in a nationally televised television event make it a difficult task to defend MMA as nothing more of a bloodsport when people get to point out that Nazis get to sponsor fighters.
UGGGG

At least Brammer got his ass handed to him.

There are MANY other cultures that symbolize power and intimidation without also symbolizing blind intolerance and genocide.

The Nazi's were so much more than just "powerful and scary". They committed horrible, horrible acts without apology. Horrific things that go beyond the claim 'we were at war'.

I think this goes well beyond freedom of speech. Skinheads and Neo-Nazis have a long history of hate crimes and violence against minorities, and it's been shown that companies like this have ties with those groups. Supporting them is fueling the groups they have ties with, the ideology they promote, and the violence that inevitably happens.

Is the clothing line racist? Sure it is. But terrorchrist has a point.

If douchebags want to out themselves as racist in the cage I say let them. Guys who spend that much time burning crosses probably don't have enough time to train and will get pwnd anyway.

"HOESZ before BROS" tshirt is a CLEAR reference to that nazi piglet Rudolf Hoess, the commanding officer of Auschwitz. Not many people pick this up as mainstream history lessons kinda skip over this subhuman filth, instead the rudolf we are tought about was Rudolf Hess, who has a similar name. Neonazis of course love and praise the other Hoess, and these cunts think they can get away being oh so cute about it.

Its all a bunch of typical WWI kaiser germany stuff until you get to the SS lightning bolts, which were and still are potent symbols of nazi belief in aryan racial supremacy. Whether one believes the SS ended as a racist organization (they were composed of conscripted foriegners during the end of the war) they started out that way. And no one cannot claim the lightning bolts are universally regarded a racist symbol today. Good job author.

Anybody who doesn't see the connection might as well look at the colour Blue and argue that it's actually Yellow.

I mean, it's so f***ing obvious. Some of the racist idiots engaged in the debate seem to be defending the Nazi perspective itself (which is in and of itself incomprehensibl e to me, but that's another story), whereas the point of articles like this are, "Isn't it obvious that HR is using Nazi imagery?"

Even if you're a neo-Nazi piece of sh**, you still have to see as clear as day that the connection's there.

If you want to engage in the "Yeah, there's a connection, but does that mean it should be banned?" debate, that's an ethical (and business) debate that at least has legs.

But if your point is, "I don't see the connection, this is a stretch" then you're an intellectual hamster.

"Color of Crime" is a book published by an organization called New Century Foundation. What does this organization do? Well, let's see:
Quote:
The New Century Foundation, founded November 1990 and based in Oakton, Virginia, is a "self-styled think tank that publishes a monthly journal and a Web site called American Renaissance. Also hosts biannual conferences. The Foundation promotes pseudoscientifi c and questionably researched and argued studies to validate the superiority of whites.

Quote:
Jared Taylor, the man who heads the New Century Foundation and edits its allied magazine American Renaissance, is a white supremacist who celebrates the "clear conception of the United States as a nation ruled by and for whites." The foundation and magazine, based in Oakton, Va., tirelessly advance pseudo-scientific theories linking IQ to race and advocate eugenics — selective breeding to "improve" human genetic stock.

OK, so it's an organization promoting white supremacy and eugenics.

Quote:
Taylor is allied with Wayne Lutton, whom he thanks in his book and who is the editor of The Social Contract, a journal published by John Tanton's The Social Contract Press. Taylor, Lutton and Richard Lynn are on the editorial board of The Occidental Quarterly, a journal where Sam Francis, top editor for the racist Council of Conservative Citizens, serves as book review editor. The Occidental Quarterly's first issue featured a story by the late Keith Stimely, who was also an editor of the Journal of Historical Review, a notorious Holocaust denial publication.

An organization whose founder has close ties with white supremacists, holocaust deniers, and neo-nazis.

The foundation also puts on bi-annual conferences:
Quote:
Attendees have included Don Black, operator of the white supremacist Web site Stormfront, and National Alliance leader Kevin Alfred Strom. Taylor has been a board member of the Council of Conservative Citizens, and is on the advisory board and has contributed to the racist journal Occidental Quarterly.

Look, I think you're picking on the little kid on the block with this rag tag t-shirt company. If you want to expose something, especially the use of symbols, then lets go straight to the top. America uses these same nazi symbols every day. The Oak and Olive branches found on many nazi emblems is also shown of the CIA coat of arms, the nazi fascii are hung in plain sight in the halls of congress and are also on the dime, the iron cross is used by the company "hard core christians," the troop barraks on the navy base in san diego (before being changed just recently) were in the design of a swatztika (also a buddhist symbol), the nazi skull and bones are worn on a belt buckle regularly by arnold schwarzennegar (a united states governor) proudly and without remorse, and IBM supported the holocaust by tatooing the jews with their ID numbers for record keeping.... i mean, seriously!!! are you going to take on AMERICA, IBM, the Governator, the CHURCH, and on and on and on for the support of blatantly using NAZI symbols??? If the answer is NO, then quit wasting our time with a t-shirt company. get real, or get lost.

Since when is Brown Pride the same as White Power? Browns don't hate other minorities... only whites and lets be honest who really likes the whites after all the s#it they have done. Even whites dont like themselves.

Im not saying browns, purples, blacks, yellows, oranges, greens, reds never did anything wrong but at least they are not linked to the worst genocide in history.

As a matter of fact I remember when two black rappers where killed because of the side of the coast they lived on. Now that is some dumb shit. Brown pride is the same as White power. Also we hate the man just as much as you.
