If you thought Anthony Johnson was going to come in overweight at UFC Fight Night 24 then raise your hand. Alright, now everyone that has their hands raised, I've given your home address directly to Rumble Johnson's email. If you're greeted with an uppercut when you come home this evening, at least you know where it came from. Sure Dan Hardy and Anthony Johnson had a 'gentleman's agreement' to stand and bang at UFC Fight Night 24, but if you were expecting two guys to wildly swing at each other for fifteen minutes, just spend some time outside of Los Betos in Tucson, AZ at 2:00am. In this brief interview by Ruben Vera, Rumble says '[Expletive] Dan Hardy' a number of times and suggest Hardy should improve his wrestling.

Fuck Hardy for crying over the fight. Train in wrestling and takedown defense and stop his takedowns. End of Story.

But as a paying customer and fan of MMA...

fuck the both of 'em. I want to see fights. If I wanted to see humping, I'd watch some Asa Akira videos; however, I want to see fights, which means that two fighters need to engage one another and actually fight, while trying to finish the damn friggin' fight. Anthony takes the bigger blame of burden for this...but so does Dan. Hardy, stand the fight back up buddy!

As someone that wrestled in high school, I have nothing but respect for wrestlers in MMA. But c'mon son...diversify your shit! I just don't want to see 15-25 minutes of it. Use the wrestling as a tool to better position yourself for a finish...don't ride that shit to victory...it sucks for me as a paying fan.

Whose to blame for the lay and pray? The guy who can put it on the ground, or the guy who doesn't train enough to stop takedowns? Wrestling is required in MMA today. If you can't stop takedowns, that's your own fault. Not the guy who's getting the win bonus and moving up the ladder.

If you aren't prepared to stop takedowns and lay and pray then you should get the fuck out of mma and go into kickboxing, boxing or muay thai. Rules need to be put into place to prevent fucking 15 minutes of lay and pray, but that is not going to happen overnight and as of right now, it's the way it is. Every fighter fucking knows that coming in and should prepare as such. If you don't want to be laid on, work on your fucking takedown defense or switch disciplines.

Rumble didnt do anything besides hold him down that fight. Sure hardy fell after the high kick to the head... he fell/slipped. hardy might suck at wrestling/bjj but Rumble still couldnt finish him with superior striking, wrestling and BJJ.

of course not. but the point is, the ufc doesn't like so-called 'boring' (or what i'd call 'efficient') fighters. its no mystery jon fitch isn't getting title shots because he's not exciting to watch. at the end of the day the ufc wants to be entertaining, and performances like this won't get you to the top

however, johnson IS an exciting fighter, he just fought for efficiency here. it wouldn't look too good having a year off from injuries only to lose to someone with no ground game

as a brit i'm obviously conditioned to like dan hardy, but he's got to stop moaning. i thought he took the loss to condit really well, but he's ruined that good sportsmanship here
