Nate Diaz Wants His First Fight Outside The UFC To Be Against ‘The Rock’

Diaz 'only' wants to duke it out with Dwayne Johnson.

For Nate Diaz, there’s only one name that makes sense for his next fight and it’s no other than ‘The Rock‘.

Give Him The Rock Or No One Else

There’s a lot of potential opponents for Diaz in his post-UFC run. Being a free agent opens up potential opportunities to fight Jake Paul, Mike Perry— the list goes on for the Stockton superstar. But forget those guys, Diaz insists he fights a celebrity instead.

Diaz would take to social media, calling out his ‘old friend’ Dwayne Johnson on Wednesday.

“Im only going to fight the rock,” Diaz wrote on Twitter. “Otherwise I’m goood.”

How Did We Get Here?

This isn’t the first time Diaz has name-dropped ‘The Rock’ as he has been beefing with the ‘Black Adam’ actor for quite a while now. It all started when Johnson backed his fellow Miami man Jorge Masvidal against the Stockton-native at UFC 244. Johnson would ultimately wrap the ‘BMF’ belt around the waist of Masvidal, after getting a doctor stoppage victory over Diaz.

Let’s just say Diaz wasn’t the biggest fan of Johnson during that fight week.

“He picked the wrong side,” Diaz said post-fight at UFC 244. “He picked another side, so he could get it too. He could get his ass whipped too, straight up.”

Fast forward to 2022 and Diaz still has beef with the celebrity, especially now that his shoe brand is partnered up with the UFC. Before fighting out his promotional contract at UFC 279, Diaz would take jabs at ‘The Rock’s’ line of shoes in what is now a deleted scene of an interview with ESPN.

“These shoes f*cking suck,” Diaz said, while showing his shoe to the camera.. “Look at these shoes, they made me put this s–t on. F*ck these shoes!”

This probably won’t be the last we hear of the Diaz-Johnson saga. Until next time!
