Jorge Masvidal plans to compete in several high-profile boxing matches and return to the UFC.

On June 1, ‘Gamebred’ will end his year-long retirement when he faces Nate Diaz in a ten-round professional boxing match. The former UFC superstars have collaborated on a countrywide press tour to promote their event, including stops in Las Vegas, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles.

Masvidal and Diaz made their appearance in Miami earlier this week for a press conference. After sharing the stage together, they participated in separate media scrums, where ‘Gamebred’ was asked about his physical shape.

The inaugural BMF champion, who defeated Diaz at UFC 244 in November 2019, responded by saying:

“I’m in great shape. I’ve been training. The fight was supposed to take place in Miami, March, didn’t happen. The fight was supposed to take place April 20, it didn’t happen. All while I’ve been training my a*s off, started off in January, by the time we take place it’ll be June. I’ll be in f*cking select shape ready to go and kill somebody.”

Jorge Masvidal reveals interest in rejoining the UFC and boxing against Logan Paul, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Manny Pacquiao

Jorge Masvidal is one of many fighters who retired from MMA before later returning. Yet, it was unclear what his intentions were by fighting again before being asked during the previously mentioned media scrum in Miami, Florida. The 39-year-old had this to say:

“I’m trying to get some big a*s checks, you know what I’m saying? Break some f*cking necks. I wouldn’t mind taking on Logan Paul and rearranging his face. He’s a hell of a fighter with the boxing. From where he comes from being an influencer, he did some good things against Mayweather, but I think I can end that dude. I’d like to fight Logan. If I can get my hands on Mayweather or Pacquiao down the road, any of these other guys I’d like to fight.”

Masvidal also confirmed he wants to fight in the UFC again:

“Definitely going to come back to the UFC and give a W for my city, my family, my kids, for everybody that believes in me. I got to go back to the UFC.”

Jorge Masvidal last fought in April 2023 when his losing streak was extended to four fights due to a unanimous decision against Gilbert Burns.

Meanwhile, Nate Diaz parted ways with the UFC in late 2022 after defeating Tony Ferguson by fourth-round submission. Diaz later fought Jake Paul in an August 2023 boxing match, with Paul emerging victorious by unanimous decision.
