Alright, this is filled with good news and bad news. The bad news is that Mayhem Miller has been pulled from his Strikeforce Los Angeles bout against Robbie Lawler on June 16th due to his participation in the Strikeforce brawl that took place in Nashville a few weeks ago. Bummer. The good news is that Babalu Sobral has replaced Mayhem and the bout will now take place at a catchweight of 195lb. Loretta Hunt of Sherdog spoke with Scott Coker shortly after today's Strikeforce St. Louis conference call and this is what he had to say:

“Miller isn’t fighting because we believe, in speaking with the Tennessee Athletic Commission, that he will put under some type of suspension. After reviewing the tape (of the April 17 incident), we felt that Miller shouldn’t headline our next event. We will honor the Tennessee commission’s decision when it’s announced.”

Babalu shares his name with a porn star. Bet you didn't know that. People seemed to instantly forget just how raw Babalu is after Gegard Mousasi sent him astral traveling at Strikeforce: Cyborg vs. Carano. Renato Sobral went 12-0 before losing to Hendo in Rings just about ten years ago. Dude went the distance with Fedor, is one of the two guys that has submitted Shogun Rua and even grabbed a W over your favorite conservative republican, Chael Sonnen. Mayhem getting pulled from this fight is total and complete boolsheet. I would front kick every table in this Starbucks if Babalu v. Lawler wasn't such a phenomenal fight. Actually, I'm just going to front kick all of the tables anyway due to excitement.

So the moral of the story is this: according to Strikeforce, asking for a rematch at an inappropriate time is a punishable offense, but 5 people beating someone down in response is quite acceptable.

It's the Tennessee athletic commission that made the call, not Strikeforce.

Both Tennessee and SF are probably afraid of penalizing the Cesar Gracie camp though, in fear of getting jumped themselves lol.

that's unfortunate, I feel that more of the punishment should have gone to ceaser gracie team that actually did the beating. I don't see the logic in that. Talking smack and jumping somebody are completely different. The smack talk was great for building up a fight and to keep shields at strikeforce. Not to mention I think it is strikeforce's fault in the first place for letting him in. The betting that they put on mayhem should be a criminal offense. I love the diaz bros and mayhem but diaz should have took the fall.

But yeah great matchup so i can't be too mad

This is bullshit. Scott Coker is a fucking joke for not sticking up for his fighters. Does anyone honestly believe that Coker and Strikeforce didnt have a hand in puting Mayhem in that position anyway! They want to ratchet up the hype for a Miller vs Shields rematch, but when shit gets ugly and out of hand its all Mayhem's fault! I aint buying it and Mayhem should find a classier organization to work for! Coker sucks ass!!

Who's the matchmaker for Strikeforce? This is a stupid matchup and makes no sense as it's going to be at a catchweight. They haven't even used Babalu since he got KO'd by Mousasi. Also they have a stable of good MW's so why not make a matchup that's actually going to make sense and have title ramifications? Absolutely horriable matchmaking, this is why Strikeforce will never compete with the UFC and will always be second tier
