Dana White Continues To Be Dismissive Of Cyborg Wanting Nunes Rematch

Dana White continues to stress the relationship between he and Cris Cyborg. He continues to insist that she is scared to fight Amanda Nunes again.

Amanda Nunes is coming off of a first round victory over Holly Holm. However, before that, she became the UFC’s first woman champ-champ. She did this by knocking out Cris Cyborg, to win the featherweight strap. Additionally, she did so in the first round, shocking the world.

This was the first loss Cyborg has received in almost 15 years. Her only other defeat came in her first pro fight. Subsequently, she is looking to rebound, with an upcoming fight with Felecia Spencer, at UFC 240. It is expected that if she beats Spencer, a rematch with Nunes would be next.

However, if you ask Dana White, Cyborg would not want that fight, even if she wins. He spoke to TMZ, again being dismissive of her desire to fight Nunes.

“I think it’s pretty obvious why she wouldn’t want that fight. It’s a bad fight for her.”

White continued to explain why he felt this way about Cyborg.

“I think that [Cyborg] is at the point where she’s afraid to lose again. Losing again isn’t something she’s interested in.”

This is not the first time that White has been critical of Cris Cyborg. They have had a hot and cold relationship over the years, which has been no secret. However, if you ask Cyborg, she is very much interested in that fight.

Cris Cyborg will be fighting the last fight of her UFC contract on Saturday night, at UFC 240. If she resigns with the UFC, and beats Spencer, perhaps the Nunes fight will be next.
