Nate Diaz Finally Removed From UFC’s Official Rankings

Last weekend (Sat., April 20, 2019) MMA world witness UFC St. Petersburg which didn’t cause much stir to the UFC rankings but Alistair Overeem’s scintillating win over Alexander Volkov boost his stock which propels him to No.6 in the rankings.

Moreover, in the latest promotional ranking, we have seen top UFC lightweight contender, and fan favorite Nate Diaz who last competed inside the Octagon two years and eight months ago has finally been taken off from the list.

The Stockton slugger last suffered a hard-fought majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 back in August 2016.

Check below how UFC rankings work and updated list: (h/t UFC.com)

Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.
