Ortiz return, McGregor and the WWE, Punk and more in the Sunday Morning Rumor Mill

Sunday Morning Rumor Mill TO

Japanese MMA never die. Sunday Morning Rumor Mill never die. There may come a day where the UFC’s iron fist rules over all MMA promotions in every corner of the globe.

Part of this iron fist strategy includes broadcasting everything on Fight Pass and perhaps forcing JMMA promos to UFC-ize their elaborate entrances as well as late night start times.

Today is not that day and thanks to Rizin, JMMA is still alive and (soccer) kicking.

As always these are rumors that have been talked about behind closed doors between MMA higher ups, so take them as MMA rumors.

Power through your Rizin Grand Prix all-night hangover with some freshly baked and a nutritious bite of the Sunday Morning Rumor Mill.

  • Despite rumors to the contrary, Bellator is still in talks with Tito Ortiz about a comeback fight and have a list of potential opponents the former UFC champion could pick to face
  • Huge if true but despite an 0-1 record, the UFC still plans to book CM Punk in a co-main event pay-per-view whenever he returns to the cage; likely the first quarter of 2018
  • Rumor is the both sides between Team McGregor and WWE are still mutually interested in doing business with each other in the future. While WWE plays it close to the vest, McGregor is always searching for ways to bring in new revenue
  • Rumors are floating out that Brock Lesnar’s current WWE contract doesn’t expire until August of 2018. It was originally widely speculated that Lesnar was up right around WrestleMania34, April 2018
