Training footage of Khamzat Chimaev and Neil Magny has been leaked

There is supposed to be a golden rule about not posting any sparring footage, but not everyone follows the rule. UFC welterweights ‘Borz’ and ‘The Haitian Sensation’ were getting some work in at Renzo Gracie’s New York gym when somebody recorded them training together to improve their jiu-jitsu.

Chimaev and Magny rolling together is intriguing because they are both ranked welterweights. ‘The Haitian Sensation’ is also one of the only UFC fighters to call out ‘Borz repeatedly,’ and a future matchup is not out of the picture.

The video shows Chimaev in full mount before transitioning to what looks like a triangle choke, forcing Magny to tap. Submitting someone in training doesn’t dignify who would win an MMA fight, especially considering they both seemed to be going light to improve technique. With that said, iron sharpens iron, so seeing the ranked welterweights work together is worth noting.

Training stories about Chimaev have been circulating before his UFC debut. ‘Borz’ has lived up to the hype by winning his six UFC fights, with the only win by decision being a fight of the year candidate against Gilbert Burns, who coincidentally is Magny’s next opponent.

Neil Magny is Looking to Legitimize Title Shot Aspirations at UFC 283

Neil Magny has built a reputation around fighting anyone, anywhere. The 35-year-old has come through again by signing to fight Gilbert Burns in Brazil at UFC 283 on January 21. ‘The Haitian Sensation’ is coming off a third-round submission win against Daniel Rodriguez on November 5.

Magny’s win against Rodriguez made him the winningest fighter in UFC welterweight history. After building up a promotional record of 20-8, the number twelve-ranked welterweight doesn’t get the respect he deserves. ‘The Haitian Sensation’ has an opportunity to flip the script and enter the title shot conversation with a win against ‘Durinho’ at UFC 283.

Who knows, maybe Khamzat Chimaev gave Magny some tips on how to beat Burns.
