Neil Magny doesn’t have any ill will towards Ian Garry.
Magny isn’t known for having beef with his opponents, but Garry was an exception. The rising Irishman publicly slammed Magny and spun one of his quotes to make it seem like the fellow UFC welterweight vouches for physically harming children. Magny said Garry’s claims were even used against him in court when he was in a custody battle.
Ultimately, Magny doesn’t have any animosity left for Garry.
Neil Magny No Longer Beefing With Ian Garry
Ian Garry ended up earning a clear unanimous decision victory over Neil Magny at UFC 292, but Garry continued to double down on the trash talk. During an episode of “The MMA Hour,” Magny insisted that he no longer holds a grudge with “The Future.”
“At the end of the day, I hope he never has to go through it, but going through a separation when you have children involved is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to face throughout my life. That trumps every type of experience I’ve had thus far. Whether it’s grief or military things or whatever it may be, that kind of experience is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.”
Magny admitted that Garry contributing to his legal battle only made him feel more stressed.
“To have an opponent kind of take that lightly and kind of make it a gimmick where some of the things he was saying in press conferences were being quoted in emails for my partner’s attorney to use in court and that kind of stuff, it was a very uneasy feeling for me.”
Regardless, he isn’t about to hold onto any bad blood with the fellow UFC fighter.
“No, not at all,” Magny said. “With everything that’s happening with him now and everything else like that, I hope he gets to a point where he can figure it out.”
With the legal battle behind him, Magny is hoping that more good things are in store for him down the road. He’s off to a good start, scoring a late TKO over Mike Malott at UFC 297.
Here is the clip of Magny explaining why he’s moving on from the Garry drama:

"He and his wife have a child that they have to raise as well… I don’t have room in my heart to hold grudges for anyone."
