A police report has revealed more details on the alleged incident between former UFC champion Jamahal Hill and his brother James Anthony Hill Jr.

Hill was arrested on November 27 and charged with one count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence. “Sweet Dreams” was released later that day and is due in court in January 2024.

Police Report Offers Details In Alleged “Sucker Punch” Incident Involving Jamahal Hill

MMAFighting.com obtained a police report from the Kentwood Police Department. In the report, it’s claimed that Jamahal Hill and his brother James had an agreement where James and his wife would clean Jamahal’s home for $300. The report notes that food began to rot as the home was left without electricity.

It’s said that an argument between the two brothers began, and the victim alleges that Jamahal “got in his face” after taking his shirt off. The ex-UFC light heavyweight champion then allegedly punched James in the face, which the victim alleges knocked him down in a “sucker punch.”

The report goes on to say that as James was getting up, and despite his wife trying to diffuse the situation, Hill allegedly reached around James’ wife and punched him again, which sent him back down and “dazed.” An officer said that James had “significant swelling” on his face and a tooth was knocked out.

It was indicated in the police report that Jamahal had become angered when James allegedly told his brother that he was “abandoning his own daughter.” Just prior that reported comment, James was also said to have questioned why Jamahal “never texted his own daughter that was at their house for Thanksgiving.”

A witness, who was not identified, supported James’ side of the story. The witness claimed Jamahal didn’t touch James’ wife when he punched him the second time. It was also claimed by the witness that “Jamahal’s three kids were in the room when the incident occurred.”

It was noted that Jamahal’s arrest was “without incident” just after midnight. Prior to being booked at Kent County Correctional Facility, Jamahal asked for his lawyer, per the police report. It was determined by the Prosecutor’s Office that were was enough evidence to charge Jamahal with misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence.

Prior to the release of the police report, Jamahal Hill insisted that he will have his name cleared in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
