Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has commented on his recent arrest.

TMZ was the first to report that Hill was arrested on an assault charge due to an alleged altercation with his brother, James Anthony Hill. Jamahal was arrested on November 27 and was released later that same day. He is due for a court appearance in January 2024.

Jamahal Hill Speaks On Arrest, Says Truth Will Be Revealed

In a new video posted on his YouTube channel, Jamahal Hill briefly touched on his current legal situation. While he can’t say much, Hill believes his name will be cleared.

“There’s been a lot of reports out there today about the situation that happened when I was back home in Michigan, visiting for the holidays. I will just say this, at this time it’s an open case,” Hill said. “I’ve been advised not to speak on it, which I know not to speak on it. I just can’t wait for the truth to be told in court. I will wait for that day, and I look forward to that day. People who know me and know my character who truly, truly rock with me and know who I am, hold onto that. Stay true to that. That’s all I’m a say on that.”

Hill has been on the sidelines due to a ruptured Achilles injury. He was forced to vacate the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship due to the injury. Hill did attend the vacant title fight between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295, which “Poatan” ended up winning.

It would appear that Hill is the next logical opponent for Pereira, depending on how his recovery is going and when he can return to the Octagon. His ongoing legal situation may also play a role in the timing of his return, so it’ll be interesting to see how quickly Hill can put that ordeal behind him.
