HENRY CEJUDO AND VALENTINA ‘BEEF’ PUT TO REST
Henry Cejudo has been climbing up the ‘most cringe’ power rankings since capturing his second UFC title at UFC 238 back in June. Triple C’s quest for gold has gotten him involved in absurd social media moments including a ‘feud’ with UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Henry and Valentina have been taking playful jabs with each other on both Twitter and Instagram. Henry told TMZ that he was on a quest to collect all of the titles in the UFC, including Valentinas’.
Fans wondered if Henry was actually serious due to the numerous times he spoke about Valentina’s title and even newly crowned strawweight champion Weili Zhang. It turns out the beef was fake all along, and Shevchenko was in on the joke.
That’s right… we can finally put Henry becoming the UFC’s first intergender champion to rest.
Consider the Beef Squashed
Both fighters were stationed in Abu Dhab as guest fighters for the upcoming UFC 242 card. Circulating photos on the internet appeared of both Henry and Valentina seemingly having a good time together. Those photos were deleted but honestly, is anything ever gone from the internet permanently?
The 3nockout Instagram account screen grabbed the photos of Henry and Valentina before they vanished from the ‘net.
Shown in the first photo was a playful interaction between the pair. The following photo shows Cejudo in a headlock from Valentina while the final two images show Valentina basking in the glory of ‘victory.’
One Cringy Beef Down, A Few More to Go
Now that the glimpse of believability for the ‘beef’ is over, Henry still has plenty of ammo.
Aside from Valentina, Triple C has also called out Germaine De Randamie, Amanda Nunes, and Weili Zhang.
Zhang seems playful about the idea of going along with Henry’s antics. The publicity could build her audience in the North American region alongside her Chinese fanbase.
Both De Randamie and Nunes acknowledge Henry’s cringy words but they haven’t been as vocal as both Zhang and Valentina. With Henry slowly running out of options for people to take the bait, will the cringe persona soon come to an end?
As of now, the only thing we know for sure is that the fake beef between Henry and Valentina can finally be put to bed. A beef we all knew didn’t exist, to begin with.
