Valentina Shevchenko Responds To Henry Cejudo’s Callout
Henry Cejudo recently called for a fight with women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Well now, she responds and issues a warning to him.
When Valentina Shevchenko defended her flyweight title on Saturday night, there were questions on who she would face next. Someone who decided to try to answer that question was Henry Cejudo. The UFC’s flyweight and bantamweight champion called for a fight with Shevchenko. Additionally, he went as far as to say he wants to be the UFC’s first inter-gender champion.
However, in an interview with ESPN, Shevchenko responded to this callout. She does not seem amused or phased by Cejudo. Instead, she gave him a chilling message.
“Be careful what you wish because he is the all gold hunter, but I can make it happen that he will lose all of his gold forever.”
As for whether or not he is serious, Shevchenko said she is not taking any chances.
“I don’t know because he is very insistent in this. But I say, be careful what you wish. Never, I am not afraid of anything.”
Shevchenko did go on to clarify that she does think Cejudo was joking. However, even is he was not, there is no way that the UFC or athletic commissions would allow this to happen. Yet this does not seem to deter Cejudo, who very likely is just trying to keep his name in the news.
Either way, time will tell what is next for Valentina Shevchenko. Though one thing is for sure, she will likely be reigning as the Flyweight Queen for a while.
