Robert Whittaker Blown Away By Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Recent Win

Khabib Nurmagomedov silenced the few remaining critics of his, following his UFC 242 win over Dustin Poirier. One person who is especially impressed is UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker.

Khabib improved his undefeated record to 28-0 with a dominate win over Dustin Poirier, in Abu Dhabi. Although the bout was fairly one-sided, there was a couple of moments where Poirier rocked Khabib on the feet. Additionally, Khabib was caught in a deep guillotine choke, before escaping and landing a choke of his own to end the fight. Overall, it was a strong performance from Khabib.

Someone who was very impressed by this victory was Robert Whittaker.  Whittaker, who is preparing for a fight of his own against Israel Adesanya, saw the UFC 242 main event. Following that, he spoke on the Grange TV podcast about the fight, and what this means for Khabib. Initially, Whittaker gave some massive praise to the fellow champ, saying that he does not think anybody will be able to defeat him anytime soon.

“I don’t see Khabib losing anytime soon. I just can’t. He put work on Dustin. Dustin is a great fighter. And, you know, every opponent that goes in there to fight Khabib knows what Khabib is going to do. They know. So I’m sure Dustin worked wrestling defense rigorously, like the entire camp.”

Furthermore, he went on to explain what makes Khabib so unique.

“Khabib is something else. His cardio, his subtle technique, his arm endurance, his stamina, and what blew me out of the water was his chin. He copped one of Dustin’s textbook left hands on the button of his chin.”

Well, color Robert Whittaker impressed. It seems like he speaks for most of the MMA community, at this point. Even if it is clear that there are some opponents for Khabib to still face.

Do you agree with Robert Whitaker and his assessment of Khabib Nurmagomedov?
