Dustin Poirier Gets Massive Amount Of Money For His Charity
Dustin Poirier was auctioning the fight gear from UFC 242. Now the auctions are over, and he has received a ton of money.
UFC 242 showcased one of the classiest gentlemen to ever grace the Octagon. Dustin Poirier would end up losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, he would still wind up with a win, just for his charitable organization.
Poirier is known for his efforts to make the world a better place, with his organization The Good Fight Foundation. Moreover, this company is working with another charity to help give fresh water for people in Uganda. It was his goal to raise $25,000 during the UFC 242 fight camp. Typically he would have raised this from auctioning his fight gear.
However, things were a bit different for this massive bout. Following the fight, Khabib offered his own shirt to be auctioned as well. Additionally, he told Poirier he would be donating $100,000 to the foundation. Moreover, Dana White agreed to match that offer. Add that to the $40,000 raised on his website, and that is already a good number.
The good news for Dustin Poirier does not end there, though. The auction for the fight gear, including a UFC 242 security pass, along with Poirier’s hand wraps, gloves, and shorts, ended Thursday. The winner of the auction will be paying $60,200 for the package, bringing the total raised to a whopping $300,000!
