Brendan Schaub Slams Yair Rodriguez For Mexico City Actions

The UFC Mexico City main event ended in a no contest, after Yair Rodriguez poked Jeremy Stephens in the eye. Following that, Brendan Schaub has some harsh words for Yair.

When Yair Rodriguez poked Jeremy Stephens in the eye in Mexico, immediately tensions were high. The crowd began raining down boos, and showering the arena with trash. Moreover, people were questioning whether or not Stephens could have continued.

However, one of the big headlines following the incident, was the reaction of Yair. Initially, he appeared to be cheering on the cage after the fight. Subsequently, when the bout was ruled a No Contest, that feeling went south. Moreover, he almost hit Michael Bisping, who was trying to speak to Yair.

Former UFC Heavyweight, turned stand up comedian, Brendan Schaub has some thoughts on the reaction of Yair. On his Below The Belt podcast, he gave his thoughts on the fight.

First he spoke on the people questioning Jeremy Stephens.

This is what’s interesting to me about this. I could understand if it was like a new kid. Say some up-and-comer who you’re like, ‘man he didn’t seem like he wanted to be in there,’ or something like that. But Jeremy Stephens is a dog.

You think he trained at high altitude for weeks and put his body through all that f–king stress and the freaking hustle that he did to get in that shape, and you think he would just kinda look for a way out because of an eye poke? You’re out your g–damn mind”

Then Schaub shifted his attention to Yair.

It makes Yair look bad, the s–t he was talking about Jeremy Stephens. Yair, the way he acted towards Bisping. That kid man, I don’t know if it’s the group around him or what but you wanna talk about mismanaged career thus far. And this ain’t helping his cause at all.

This does not make me wanna jump aboard the Yair Rodriguez train at all. I hope they do fight again and I hope Jeremy Stephens beats the f*ck out of him after that.”

Well, it was announced that they will be running back the fight. This comes after the two got into an altercation in the hotel after the fight. So Brendan Schuab will not have to wait long to see if Jeremy Stephens can get the job done against Yair Rodriguez.
