Jackson ended Amosov's incredible 27-fight win streak with a brutal knockout in the third round

In the Bellator 301 main event, reigning welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov put his title on the line against perhaps his most dangerous opponent yet, streaking Jamaican standout Jason Jackson. 

‘The Ass-Kicking Machine’ earned his opportunity at the welterweight crown with six straight wins inside the Bellator cage, including victories over Benson Henderson, Neiman Gracie, Paul Daley, and Douglas Lima. Did Jackson hand the 27-0 Amosov the first loss of his mixed martial arts career? 

Round 1

Yaroslav Amosov begins the bout by circling the cage wall as Jackson moves in looking to strike. Amosov shoots for a takedown early, but Jackson defends and fires an uppercut that just misses. Amosov returns fire with a calf kick. Three-punch combo from Jackson as Amosov stays on his bicycle. Amosov doubles up on the calf kick and again shoots for a takedown. Jackson defends once again and Amosov goes back to the calf kick.

Jackson throws a kick to the body. Amosov throws a right that misses and Jackson shoots for a takedown of his own, getting a hold of Amosov’s back. Amosov stays on his feet and eventually breaks the grip allowing him to separate. Amosov throws a left kick and shoots again for a takedown, but it’s stuffed by Jackson. 

Jackson clinches Amosov against the fence. Amosov breaks away and quickly shoots for a takedown, but is once again unsuccessful. Amosov throws a calf kick. Jackson throws a left and Amosov attempts to shoot but fails to secure the takedown. Jackson lands a solid right hand as Amosov clinches in the center of the cage until the first round comes to a close.

Round 2

They open up the second round with an exchange of strikes. Lead right-hand lands for Jackson. He follows it up with a calf kick of his own as Amosov continues to utilize lateral movement and close the distance. Amosov shoots again but fails and Jackson launches a knee in response. Amosov goes back to the calf kick before lunging in with a left. Jackson tries to respond prompting Amosov to shoot in. Jackson defends and separates.

Amosov again misses on the takedown. Jackson fires another knee followed by a right uppercut that catches Amosov on the exit. Jackson throws a left followed by a stiff calf kick. Jackson lands an uppercut that jacks the jaw of Amosov. The champ responds by shooting in and securing a waist lock against the fence. Amosov attempts to sweep Jackson to the mat, but Jackson’s strength keeps him standing. 

With seconds to go, Amosov releases the hold and throws a last-minute head kick, but it fails to get through.

Round 3

Amosov throws a body kick in the opening seconds that Jackson catches and uses to attempt his own takedown. Amosov defends and separates. In close, Jackson lands another nasty right uppercut that pops Amosov’s head back. Jackson follows it up with a knee that narrowly misses. Jackson unloads another big right hand that catches Amosov clean and drops him. 

Jackson moves in and unloads a heap of ground-and-pound strikes forcing the referee to step in and call for the stoppage. 

Official Result: Jason Jackson def. Yaroslav Amosov via TKO (strikes) at 2:08 of Round 3.
