Yaroslav Amosov Puts on MMA Clinic, Unifies Titles With Domination of Logan Storley – Bellator 291 Results (Highlights)

Yaroslav Amosov delivered a 25-minute clinic against Logan Storley in the Bellator 291 main event on Saturday night

Yaroslav Amosov made his long-awaited return to the Bellator cage to defend his Bellator welterweight championship against reigning interim titleholder Logan Storley.

Amasov won the title in June 2021, defeating Douglas Lima via unanimous decision at Bellator 260. Since then, ‘Dynamo’ has kept busy by defending his home country against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At Bellator 291, Amasov made his triumphant return to unify his title with the man that has represented the 170-pound division in his absence. 

Round 1

The fighters came out trading early. Just over a minute into the bout, Amosov landed a clean right hand that appeared to rock Storley. Recovering quickly, Storley rips to the leg of Amosov. Storley responds with a right that catches and cuts Storley above his right eye. 1-2 combination followed by a high kick from Amosov. Right hook connects for Amosov. The champ blitzes with a flurry of strikes that takes Storley off balance as he flees from the danger. Storley with a 1-2. Stroley moves in again but eats a series of strikes from Amosov who stands his ground as the first round ends.

Round 2

Yaroslav Amosov comes out continuing to fire on all cylinders, targeting the lead leg of Storley. Amosov is showing good footwork as Storley continued to move forward but offers little offense. Storley attempts to shoot for a takedown, but Amosov stuffs it easily and delivers a right hand. Heavy calf kick from Amosov followed by another. Storley switches stances which tells Amosov everything he needs to know about his opponent’s lead leg. Amosov begins to target the body with his kicks. Another big combination by Amosov lands. The champ shoots in for a takedown against the fence, but it’s well-defended by Amosov. 

Round 3

Beautiful right hand by Amosov to open the third round followed by a high kick. Strorley again shoots for a takedown but is unable to complete it. The fighters separate and Amosov lands another big body kick. 1-2 combo lands for Amosov. Storley fires a right hook that glances, but Amosov responds with a right hand of his own. Big left hook connects with Storley’s chin. Amosov pushes Storley against the fence and fires a hard high kick. Amosov kicks to the body and then delivers a calf kick. Another body kick by Amosov appears to hurt Storley. Amosov moves in and takes his opponent down, controlling his back with just over a minute to go in the round. Storley climbs back to his feet and is able to separate, but eats another body kick on the exit. Amosov threatens a single leg as the third round ends.

Round 4

Storley comes out moving forward, but another heavy leg kick from Amosov clearly has him in pain. Storley swings and misses with the right. He takes another swing with the left and misses again. Storley shoots for a takedown, but Amosov defends with ease. Storley again shoots for a single leg but to no avail. Amosov tees off on Storley, landing a nasty combination. Storley desperately shoots for a takedown. Amosov separates and delivers another nasty calf kick that takes Storley off balance. Amosov pursues and gets a takedown, but Storley is able to get back to his feet. High kick by Amosov followed by a series of strikes that keeps Storley at bay until the bell sounds.

Round 5

Storley comes out desperate for a takedown, but Amosov fends it off and throws a high kick as they separate. Storley is still game, moving forward and trying to make something happen, but Amosov brilliantly keeps him at bay with a kick up the middle followed by a combination. Storley moves in and Amosov teases a single leg before letting it go. Storley responds by going for his own single leg and eats multiple strikes as a result. Likely aware he is up on the scorecards, Amosov is content to dance around and avoid any potential danger. Amosov lands another calf kick. Storley attempts to counter but eats a combination from Amosov. Flurry by Amosov forces Storley to desperately change levels but is unable to complete a takedown. With 10 seconds to go, Storley attempts to land a big right hand but winds up on his back as the final bell sounds.

Official Result: Yaroslav Amosov def. Logan Storley via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45)
