Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling was caught on filming getting pranked.

One of the most brutal aspects of combat sports is weight-cutting. Fighters must drain their bodies throughout the fight week to ensure they reach the contracted limit on weigh-in day. During this time, most of them struggle to keep a positive mindset, leading to an altered version of their personalities.

Sterling was allegedly an example of the negative effects caused by weight cutting, as he showcased a short temper in a recently released prank video. The footage took place with ‘Funk Master’ being approached by a content creator wearing a virtual reality headset before the following conversation took place:

“What they having for lunch today?” – pranker

“Who are you talking to?” – Sterling

“You. I said, baby girl, what they having for lunch today?” – p

“Stop playing with me, man” – S

“Are you not a woman?” – p

“Bro, are you joking?” – S

“I thought you were built like a woman. Right here [on the VR headset], it says you’re a woman. 100% female” – p

“Are you f*cking with me right now?” – S

“Do you have a BBL?” – p

The prankster removed the virtual reality headset and continued the prank before Sterling attempted to grab him. The video ended with ‘Funk Master’ apologizing and blaming his weight cut for his relatively short temper:

“Oh, you male. I didn’t know, bro. It’s a prank. It’s a prank.” – pranker

“I was cutting weight. I was cutting weight. I’m sorry.” – Sterling

When does Aljamain Sterling fight next?

In August 2023, Aljamain Sterling attempted to extend his UFC bantamweight title reign by defending his throne against Sean O’Malley. Unfortunately for Sterling, O’Malley seemed destined to become the 135-pound king, as he secured a second-round knockout win in the UFC 292 main event.

As a result, Sterling announced he is leaving the bantamweight division to prevent any more drastic weight cuts. On April 13, the 34-year-old will fight at featherweight for the first time inside the Octagon when he meets Calvin Kattar at the highly-anticipated UFC 300.

Kattar has proven to be a tough test at 145 pounds, so it’ll be intriguing to see if Sterling can take him out and make a statement in his new weight class.
