  • Bryce Mitchell rooted for Petr Yan over Sean O’Malley at UFC 280
  • “Sugar” destroyed “Thug Nasty” with a vicious response

Sean O’Malley’s split decision win over Petr Yan at UFC 280 was already controversial. However, UFC featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell reckoned that “Sugar” getting a crack at the bantamweight’s No. 1 contender was ever more disputable.

It doesn’t get any better

Both O’Malley and Mitchell are known for being outspoken. As expected, when “Thug Nasty” said he was rooting for Yan as O’Malley didn’t even deserve that fight in the first place, “Sugar” hit back.

In a video clip posted by combat sports journalist Chisanga Malata on Twitter, O’Malley could be seen listening to Mitchell’s comments before clapping back with a dig of his own.

“I also have to pick Yan over O’Malley,” Mitchell said in the video. “The reason being is because once again, O’Malley hasn’t even earned that spot. He’s used his mouth to get that fight. His YouTube followers ain’t going to help him once the cage doors get locked.”

O’Malley replied:

“Your dad f***ed his sister to make you.”

Everything was well-deserved

Contrary to what many say, O’Malley’s coach Tim Welch is convinced that his pupil deserved a showdown with Yan. More importantly, Welch believed “Sugar” proved to everybody that he has the heart of a true fighter in that three-round war with the division’s No. 1 contender.

Well aware that critics would be all over O’Malley, Welch declared in a social media post, “Let’s hear it h8er pu**ies!”

As it stands, O’Malley is at No. 11 but is expected to break into the top five in the 135-pound division once the UFC updates its official rankings. A title shot is imminent but let’s wait and see how things would play out.
