Sean O’Malley Vs Marlon Vera Added To Stacked UFC 239 Card
“Suga” Sean O’Malley wasted no time getting his next fight booked. He will be facing off against Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 239 in July.
Following a short suspension from USADA, one that was already served when handed down, Sean O’Malley is looking to get back to action. It was announced earlier this week that O’Malley was among several fighters to test positive for ostarine, and was handed a six month suspension. It has been a while since we have seen the up and coming prospect at 135lbs. He last fought against Andre Soukhamthath at UFC 222 last March. It was in this fight, where he gave his infamous post-fight interview while laying down injured.
Marlon “Chito” Vera is on quite the streak, himself. He has won three in a row, last defeating Frankie Saenz at UFC Nashville. That was a bout that saw “Chito” win early in the first round. All three of his recent victories have been via finish. That adds to a total 11 finishes in 13 wins for Vera.
First reported by ESPN, this bout takes place at UFC 239. The July card is already very stacked, and is likely going to headline the UFC’s International Fight Week. The top billing of the card currently goes to Jon Jones vs Thiago Santos, with Amanda Nunes taking on Holly Holm in the co-main event. The card also features notable bouts between Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal, along with Francis Ngannou vs Junior dos Santos and many others. It will be taking place at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas Nevada.
