UFC 222 Results: Sean O’Malley Survives Leg Injury To Beat Andre Soukhamthath

Sean O’Malley and Andre Soukhamthath squared off for the UFC’s bantamweight bout in the main event of tonight’s UFC 222 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas.

“Sugar” Sean O’Malley (9-0) comes into the fight firmly in the driver’s seat of a speeding hype train. With an undefeated record of 9-0 with six straight knockouts, it’s easy to climb aboard.

O’Malley came out on fire, beating his opponent in the opening round with an angry cross, with Soukhamthath barely making it out of the round. The second round saw a more aggressive Soukhamthath who was able to realize a takedown, but O’Malley used a guillotine attempt to reverse the position.

Soukhamthath tried to wrestle O’Malley early in the third, but couldn’t get the fight to the mat. O’Malley’s leg was hurt, and Soukhamthath took the fight to the canvas. Despite the serious leg injury, O’Malley preserved his perfect record.

O’Malley remains unbeaten and now 10-0. Andre Soukhamthath dropped to 12-6 with his third loss out of his past four fights.
