Okay this time Nate Diaz is really back with the UFC. The prodigal Stockton son is back in the good graces of the UFC, and more importantly Diaz seems at peace with working with promotion again.
When MMA fans last saw Diaz *checks notes* was it really 2016? Like August of 2016, when Diaz fought Conor McGregor for the second time at UFC 202.
What a long strange trip it has been for the younger Diaz brother since he nearly beat the sport’s biggest star in back to back fights. There is an alternate universal timeline where Diaz is scored the winner after going 25 minutes with McGregor at UFC 202. Does Diaz go on to knockout Eddie Alvarez a few months later?
Diaz vs. Mayweather in a boxing freak show match?
The MMA world might be better if the above scenario played out, but instead Diaz has been away from the cage going on nearly 36 months. MMA 209 times more interesting when Nate and Nick Diaz are fighting in it.
With a scheduled fight versus Anhtony Pettis on August 17th at UFC 241 signed, maybe MMA fans can finally breath a sigh relief. For those fans still walking away slowly with their hands out, at the mere though of Diaz fighting again, the Stockton fighter put some of those worries to bed.
Today (June 3) on The Ariel Helwani Show hosted by Ariel Helwani, Diaz went back in a time machine and crushed another vintage Diaz bros interview.
These are the moments and quotes MiddleEasy lives for.
