Nate Diaz Actually Does Arrive In New York For UFC 244

If you were concerned as to whether or not Nate Diaz would show up to UFC 244, you can lay those doubts to rest. Early Monday morning he arrived in New York in time for fight week.

Diaz had the MMA world in a frenzy last week, when he announced that he would not be fighting at UFC 244. He had explained that he had been notified of some “elevated levels” in a recent USADA drug test. As a result, he said that he did not want to compete until the issue was cleared up.

Following that, there were reports that the fight was still intact. Reports were that Diaz was not suspended, and could still compete. Nevertheless, there was still concern that he would end up not showing, by choice, as that was what he was saying in his post. Despite the fact USADA has since cleared him, there were lingering doubts.

However, it seems that Nate Diaz has arrived in New York for fight week. In a couple of Facebook posts from Diaz’s coach Jose Garcia, he explains that he was en route to New York with Nate. Following that, he checked in at a diner in New York, suggesting that the pair had made it successfully.

Well that is certainly a positive sign that we will see Nate Diaz at MSG on Saturday. Although there are sure to be some skeptics who will want to wait until the cage is closed behind him. Hopefully this means he will be taking on Jorge Masvidal on November 2nd. The bout is the UFC 244 main event, and it is for the BMF title.
