It didn’t take long for Fanmio CEO Solomon Engel to respond to Nate Diaz.

Diaz vs. Fanmio

Diaz, the former UFC superstar-turned-boxer, filed a lawsuit on Monday, alleging that Fanmio had still owed him $9M for his completed boxing match against Jorge Masvidal on July 9th. According to the lawsuit, the 39 year-old was to be paid a total of $10M from Fanmio, with $1M upfront and the rest after the event.

The lawsuit also states that Engel is reneging the agreement because “he was going to lose more money than he had anticipated on the event if he paid Diaz what he had promised and that his wife might divorce him because of the financial losses.” (via ESPN).

Fanmio’s Engel is reportedly being sued by Diaz for fraud and breach of contract.

Fanmio CEO Releases Statement

Solomon Engel has spoken out on Diaz’s lawsuit, saying the following in a press release:

“Nate Diaz has filed a frivolous lawsuit against Fanmio which claims that fraud and breach of contract were committed by Fanmio, yet neither has taken place. In fact, Diaz has already been paid seven figures in connection with the fight.

I look forward to resolving this dispute through the appropriate process and am confident that justice will prevail. Making salacious and defamatory statements to the media in order to harm my family and I has only strengthened my resolve to ensure that the truth will triumph.”
