Marvin Vettori wasn’t a fan of Israel Adesanya‘s performance at UFC 276.
UFC 276 has come and gone, and ‘Stylebender’ has defended his belt for the fifth time. He easily defeated Jared Cannonier via a unanimous decision. Adesanya got some flack from the fans for a somewhat lackluster performance, but it was his two-time former opponent who really slammed him.
This sh*t was so boring
The day after the event, Vettori ripped Adesanya on Twitter.
“Reality is this shit was so boring people walked off the arena after 3 rounds. The division needs a new champ and it’s gonna happen very soon. 9 weeks from today we’re making a statement. Italy will have his first UFC champion soon.
#theitaliandream,” Vettori wrote.
Vettori may think that Italy will have its first champion soon.; however, the reality of the situation is that he won’t be champion as long as Adesanya is still in the division because he has lost twice to him, most recently at UFC 263 last year in Arizona.
The Italian fighter returns to action in September against Robert Whittaker at UFC Paris in a huge fight that makes Vettori’s path back to the belt to that much closer.
