KSI and Tommy Fury have officially announced their boxing match is scheduled for October 14.
The rapid growth of influencer boxing has been primarily supported by two famous social media personalities – KSI and Jake Paul. On February 26, Paul’s undefeated record was ended by a split decision loss against Fury. Eight months later, ‘TNT’ looks to defeat the other top superstar, KSI, inside the AO Arena in Manchester, England.
The intriguing boxing match was announced earlier today, July 30, with KSI posting this message on Instagram:
“OCTOBER 14TH, I’m doing what Jake Paul couldn’t and beating Tommy Fury on the biggest night in crossover boxing history, at Manchester’s AO Arena, live on DAZN PPV on the PRIME CARD!”
In February 2018, KSI fought for the first time in an exhibition bout against Joe Weller, winning by a third-round TKO. The YouTuber-turned-boxer went to a majority decision draw against Logan Paul in his second fight before turning pro in 2019.
KSI’s first professional boxing match, a win against Paul, was the only time he’s competed in a non-exhibition bout. Since then, the 30-year-old has secured exhibition wins against Swarmz, FaZe Temperrr, and Luis Pineda. He last fought on May 13 against Joe Fournier, which ended with a no-decision after Fournier was knocked out with an elbow strike.
Meanwhile, Tommy Fury’s only influencer boxing match besides Jake Paul was a unanimous decision win against Anthony Taylor in August 2021. ‘TNT’ holds a 9-0 professional boxing record, with four wins by KO/TKO.
Tommy Fury plans to have fun and knock out KSI
Tommy Fury’s upcoming boxing match against KSI will be in his hometown of Manchester, England. Therefore, ‘TNT’ will likely have plenty of friends and family to support him inside the AO Arena as he takes on the unorthodox YouTuber-turned-boxer.
Once the fight announcement was made by KSI, Fury voiced his excitement for the event on Instagram by saying:
“OCTOBER 14TH…. You’re getting knocked out in front of my home crowd. This is gonna be fun. @ksi #KsiFury”
The October 14 event has been labeled “The Prime Card,” as both owners of the sports drink, KSI and Logan Paul, will be fighting. It’s unclear who Paul will be boxing in the co-main event, but most fans have speculated his opponent is Dillon Danis.
