Kevin Lee wants some pointers from Donald Trump

And no, it’s not about politics. Instead, Lee wants some MMA insight from the former president. The super lightweight fighter is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46. He’d dominate to the final bell, even with an apparent injury on his knee.

A win over a 40 year-old Sanchez might not look the best on Lee’s resume. However, Lee’s strength of schedule will surely look to improve as he moves on from his Eagle FC debut.

Lee Wants Trump To Choose His Next Foe

That being said, Lee would throw a curveball in his post-fight interview. Out of the blue, he called for Donald Trump to pick his next opponent.

“I hear Donald Trump is starting to get back into promoting,” Lee stated post-fight. “So, it would be fun if he picked the next opponent.”

The 45th U.S. President did in fact dabble in the fight business back in the day. He owned a significant equity stake in Affliction Entertainment, which put on MMA events. Trump would promote Affliction and appeared at a number of events. However, it would be a short stint as the promotion started in 2008 and ended in 2009.

According to Lee, Trump could be making his way back into the MMA industry, possibly as a promoter. We’ll see if that’s true. He’s a businessman and a MMA fan, so that could mix well in his second time around.

‘I’m The Best 165er Out Here’

As for Lee’s next opponent, who knows who could face him next. Maybe Trump will have a hand in that, should Eagle FC promoter Khabib Nurmagomedov allow it. ‘The Motown Phenom’ does have title intentions, so perhaps his next fight could be a crack at the inaugural super lightweight title.

“There’s no doubt, I’m the best 165er out here,” Lee added. “The best guy for anyone who wants to weigh 165.”
