Joe Rogan can’t believe someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump.
Like, he really can’t believe it.
On Saturday, July 13, the former U.S. president was the subject of an assassination attempt when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks reportedly fired multiple shots with a rifle from a rooftop more than 400 feet away from where Trump was addressing his supporters at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

As shots rang out, ’45’ was grazed in the ear before being rushed off stage by members of the Secret Service. Sadly, one man, a 50-year-old firefighter and father named Corey Comperatore, was shot and killed during the incident.
Reacting to the incident during an episode of his popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the longtime UFC commentator suggested that the whole thing felt like it was something straight out of a movie.
“The whole thing’s nuts, the whole, the whole, thing stinks of either incompetence or a design or we’re in the Matrix. Like this is a f*cking fake movie. To watch the most bombastic and manly of presidents—you know, the for a lack of a better term to—see him with these two female bumbling Secret Service agents,” Rogan said.
“To see everything happened the way—to see that [the Secret Service] knew this guy was on the roof, that, to hear that that guy had pointed his rifle before that at a cop so the cop engaged him, he pointed the rifle and the cop ran away. The guy climbed the roof with a ladder you can see the ladder, the whole thing is bananas.”

Of course, Rogan’s comments didn’t sit well with hardcore conservatives, though he’s certainly not the first person to call into question the odd circumstances surrounding Crooks’ attempt on the former president’s life.
As it stands, two conspiracy theories are making the rounds online—one suggesting that the Biden administration played a role in the attack while another claims that Trump orchestrated the whole thing to generate support during an election year. The latter appears to be the more popular theory with many of its supporters questioning how Crooks was able to climb to the roof of a building providing a clear shot at Trump and whether or not law enforcement looked the other way to allow the attempt.
An investigation into Crooks’ motivation for the attack is ongoing but has generated few answers. Interestingly, Crooks was registered as a Republican, the party of Donald Trump.
“He’s 20 years old and then you find out he was in a Black Rock commercial? You’re like, am I, is this the Black Mirror? Like, tell me what’s going on is this real?” Rogan added.
