Jake Paul believes he knows why Nate Diaz hasn’t accepted a PFL MMA fight with him.

Paul and Diaz had a boxing match back in August, and it was “The Problem Child” who emerged victorious in that encounter via unanimous decision. Paul has since been urging the Stockton native to sign the contract for a rematch under MMA rules. Diaz has been opposed to doing business with the PFL, expressing loyalty to the UFC and demanding co-promotion with his Real Fight Inc. brand.

Jake Paul On Nate Diaz Not Accepting MMA Rematch

Speaking to Mike Bohn of MMAJunkie, Jake Paul said that Nate Diaz is moving the goalposts on an MMA fight.

“We’re ready,” Paul said. “MMA, end of 2024, $10 million, which is more than he’s ever made for an MMA fight ever, and he’s sitting there asking for more money basically drunk tweeting random sh*t and random fight posters making himself look like a fool. So, I just can’t comprehend what they’re trying to do or what they’re saying, but this is the fight game. Everyone says they wanna do things, everyone calls people out, everyone blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, but no one actually makes sh*t happen and that’s what I look to change in this sport and to just provide transparency to my audience about what’s actually going on with these negotiations, and not being afraid to fight anyone, anywhere, any time, any place.”

Recently, PFL Chairman Donn Davis told Ariel Helwani on “The MMA Hour” that a $15 million offer is on the table for Diaz.

Theory On Diaz Refusing Fight Offer

Paul went on to share his belief that Diaz is hesitating to fight him again because he knows the danger involved.

“I truly believe that he knows it would be a really tough fight for him, and I think that’s the thing for him where he’s like, ‘Damn, do I risk my whole MMA reputation by giving this kid a chance here?'”
