llir Latifi will change divisions in an effort to hopefully bounce back from previous defeats.

After an obvious decline in performance, the normal light heavyweight competitor Ilir Latifi has decided that a switch to the heavyweight division is the best move for him right now. Latifi failed to get a win against either Corey Anderson and Volkan Oezdemir in his last two fights, so he had no choice other than to move up to heavyweight according to MMajunkie.

These back-to-back defeats are a first for Latifi (14-7 MMA, 7-5 UFC) and he may just have better luck in a heavier weight class where he originally started at the beginning of his UFC career before he moved down to LHW in 2009 which was his home up until this point.

“The Sledgehammer’s” last win came against Ovince St. Preux, who he defeated via submission in February 2018; which earned him “Performance Of The Night” honors, before losing to Anderson (decision) and Oezdemir (knockout).

And now we’ll see how the 36-year-old veteran performs in the division he left a decade ago.
