Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar Set For UFC 240 On July 27

As per ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, a featherweight title bout is set between champion Max Holloway and former UFC lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar for upcoming UFC 240 PPV event on July 27 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

BREAKING: Max Holloway (@BlessedMMA) vs. Frankie Edgar (@FrankieEdgar) is verbally agreed for UFC 240 on July 27 in Edmonton.

Max Holloway and Edgar were initially scheduled to throw down at UFC 218 back in 2017 however the bout scrapped off after Frankie hit with an injury thus Jose Aldo stepped in to replace him. ‘Blessed’ went on to win the fight via third round TKO.

They were booked again at UFC 222, but things once again fall after Holloway pulled out due to a leg injury. Edgar took on Brian Ortega and suffered a first career loss via first round TKO. Later that year, ‘T City’ eventually came up short against Holloway.

Edgar is coming off a unanimous decision win over Cub Swanson back in April of 2018, and since then he’s campaigning for a title fight.

‘The Answer’ finally gets his wish granted. Alexander Volkanovski who’ riding on a seven-fight win streak just recently defeated Jose Aldo wouldn’t like this decision of UFC.

Max Holloway recently rematched Dustin Poirier at lightweight and won the interim title via decision.

Any predictions who’ll win?
