Frankie Edgar Says His Goal Is To Fight Best Guy Not A Smaller Guy Like Henry Cejudo

Henry Cejudo made history at UFC 238 PPV event last month by becoming UFC’s fourth champ-champ after finishing Marlon Moraes via third-round TKO win.

Following his victory, Cejudo said he has bigger plans and want to move up to Featherweight to capture yet another title. “Triple C” also said he’d love to take on Edgar if he went on to win over Max Holloway at upcoming event UFC 240.

‘The Answer’ recently told MMAFighting that he has no interest in taking on smaller guys, but his focus is to fight best guys.

“That dude says a lot of s—t. Most of it’s garbage so you’ve got to kind of take it with a grain of salt,” Edgar told MMA Fighting when asked about Cejudo “Who knows what he’s talking. My focus is nowhere near a 35-pounder right now.

“I’m not looking to fight the smaller guy. I’m looking to fight the best guy, and that’s Max right now.”

You may see Edgar was a bit seethed by Cejudo’s call-out, suggesting ‘Anwer’ is the smallest guy in the division; thus, he suits well with him in a fight.

Anyway, a matchup between Edgar and Cejudo would be fun fight however it’s unlikely promotion will book the winner of Edgar vs. Holloway with him. As top-ranked featherweight contender, Alexander Volkanovski is waiting in the line also didn’t impress with Cejudo’s antics of jumping to 145-pound.

Currently, Cejudo is sidelined for the remainder of 2019 due to shoulder surgery. So it’s unknown what’s next for him even UFC head honcho Dana White said Joseph Benavidez could be next for ‘Triple C.’
