Diego Sanchez On Khabib’s Eagle FC: “They Are Going To Change The Sport”

Diego Sancez Says Changes To MMA Are Coming With Eagle FC.

UFC legend Diego Sanchez believes his new boss will change mixed martial arts for the better.

Next month, ‘The Nightmare’ will be competing outside of the UFC for the first time since 2005. Sanchez fights Kevin Lee in the main event of Eagle FC 46. He believes Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC will change the sport of MMA for the better.

Improving the sport

Speaking with MMA Junkie Radio, Sanchez explained why.

“I really truly do believe with faith in my heart that Khabib wants to improve the sport of mixed martial arts and combat sports,” Sanchez said. “Improve! With you know, the unwavering moral and ethics that this man has, coming from a Muslim background. They are diehard, Muslims are diehard when it comes to their faith, they pray five times a day – getting on their knees and stuff. Like that’s good ethics, I don’t care what anyone says.”

“I think with what Khabib is going to bring with his team, his Russian connections, I see a real future for Eagle FC. I think they are going to change the sport. I think they are going to change the sport and you’ll see a lot of fighters coming to Eagle FC. I really feel a movement coming because you can say what you want about the UFC but they don’t give a shit about the fighters.”

As our favorite fighter’s careers start to wind down, we see them starting their own MMA promotions. Anthony Pettis, Jorge Masvidal, and Nurmagomedov are leading the way. With more promotions being created, the sport can grow and fluctuate. Also, fighters know what fighters go through, what is bad for them, and what they need.

More promotions mean there are more options for the fighters, which is always a great thing.

So far, there has been nothing but positivity coming from Eagle FC. Kevin Lee claims he is even making more money in his Eagle FC debut than some UFC Champions.

While it looks to be a good run for Khabib so far, UFC president Dana White did say just wait, because running an MMA promotion is tough as hell.  However, if there is one person who will be up for the challenge, Nurmagomedov is that man.

Sanchez vs. Lee goes down on March 11 at Eagle FC 46.
