Daniel Cormier Takes Aim At Stipe Miocic

Before meeting Daniel Cormier, a Cleveland native Stipe Miocic was considered a best heavyweight mixed martial artist in UFC and MMA history. He defended the title three times and held the record for most consecutive title defenses in the history of UFC.

Miocic’s winning streak snapped when Cormier defeated him via first-round knockout at UFC 226 to claim the heavyweight crown and become a two-weight class champion simultaneously.

Cormier then went on to defend his light heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 last November.

Miocic had been campaigning for a rematch with Cormier, but ‘DC” wanted to lock horns with Brock Lesnar in a highly anticipated bout however that never came to fruition.

UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will look to defend the title against then-champion Stipe Miocic in a rematch at UFC 241 PPV event on August 17th in Anaheim, California.

We are sure that Miocic is coming better than before into this contest, but Cormier has said many times that former champ wouldn’t be able to recover from UFC 241 loss.

“I understand that he’s gonna be better,” Cormier said at a recent UFC promotional press conference, per MMAWeekly. “I think he’s a good champion. He’s a good fighter. I just don’t think he’s good enough to beat me.”

Early predictions here, who’ll come out on top?
