Daniel Cormier Vows To Break Stipe Miocic In A Rematch

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic had non-stop begged Daniel Cormier for a title rematch after “DC” dethroned him at UFC 226 last July.

Awhile ago Cormier was agreeable and even promised to give Miocic a rematch if Brock Lesnar fight fails to come to fruition. At one point Cormier was so sick of Miocic’s repeated request for a championship fight, and flat out ignored his calls.

Since Brock Lesnar is out of title fight conversation thanks to UFC’s new deal with ESPN+. Following that promotion boss, Dana White revealed Stipe Miocic would get his much-desired rematch against Daniel Cormier.

‘DC’ was ok with promotion’s decision and showed his annoyance on how Miocic handled his loss. That comment of Cormier didn’t sit well with Miocic who called ‘DC’ an idiot earlier this week.

Now Cormier fires back at Miocic on his Talk and Talker podcast recently and vows to break him in a rematch. (h/t MMAFighting)

“He’s gonna be done. After this one, it will be very hard for Stipe to get back to where he once was because this one’s going to break him. I know what the second Jones fight did to me. It almost broke me. But all my life experiences – my father, my cousin, my daughter, my roommate – all those life experiences allowed me to keep things in perspective, whereas he hasn’t really had to do that. So when he loses in this spot, I don’t think he’ll be able to recover from it. It’ll be too much.”

Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic will throw down at UFC 241 on Aug. 17.
