Daniel Cormier Remains UFC Heavyweight Champion After Second Round Submission Win Over Derrick Lewis!
We’re live inside Madison Square Garden in New York, New York, where Daniel Cormier fights Derrick Lewis at the main event of UFC 230. There has been a lot of beef between these two, especially after Lewis’ trolling promo video. Let’s see who’s going to win this Heavyweight battle. Herb Dean is our referee.
Round 1
Fighters touch gloves. Left middle kick Lewis. Right low kick Lewis. Daniel tries for a low kick too. Left high kick Lewis, but DC blocks it.
Cormier grabbed Lewis’ leg, pushes him against the cage and great single leg takedown.
Cormier in the half-guard, controlling the position. Cormier pushes his elbow towards Derrick’s face, and lands few good right hands. Good hammer-fist and elbow. Right hand “DC”. Lewis rotates and comes onto his knees, Cormier rotates behind him.

Fighters again touch gloves. Left middle kick Cormier. Ah, what strong punches by Lewis. Left double kick to the head Lewis. Lewis with a right low kick, attacks with punches but DC escapes. What a great right hand by Lewis. Cormier feints and goes under.
What a single leg takedown by Cormier, he kicks Lewis’ left leg too!
Lewis stands up immediately, fighters on the fence. Good knee Cormier, and pulls Lewis’ down.

Side control. Daniel Cormier controls the back now. Oh, this looks like a rear-naked choke! Cormier defends the title, the match is over!
