  • The UFC’s “BMF” is facing felony battery charges following the incident

The rivalry between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal is far from over, especially after “Gamebred” allegedly attacked Covington outside a restaurant on Monday. Police arrived to the scene and reports said Covington confirmed to the cops that he incurred a few injuries after Masvidal and his group attacked him.

“Gamebred” had his shot

Not all believe that due to the heated rivalry between the pair, it’s just right that such altercations will happen every now and then. Among them was former UFC champ-champ Daniel Cormier.

According to “DC,” Masvidal had the chance to let Covington have it at UFC 272 for “25 minutes” but he failed to do it, losing by unanimous decision. Hence, this makes it “seems off” for the UFC’s “BMF” to hold grudge and even attack “Chaos” in a public place.

“Here’s the thing, a lot of these altercations happen prior to fights happening,” Cormier said on DC & RC. “You have 25 minutes, and this is the only place I’m going to condemn Jorge Masvidal. You had 25 minutes less than two weeks ago to do everything you wanted. It doesn’t seem as though, this was a come face to face, and we get into a fight.”

“This seems a little bit different,” he stressed. “That’s where it seems off.”

Facing charges

With the police getting involved in the alleged altercation, Masvidal could potentially face felony battery charges. TMZ Sports first reported that Covington started calling the cops after Masvidal and “several others” began attacking him. Cops said “Chaos” admitted that he “fractured his front left tooth in the attack, and also suffered an abrasion on his wrist.”

Further investigation into the allegations is also underway.

Covington and Masvidal were once pals, having lived under the same roof at one point. However, things took a huge turn as their careers soar and the former roommates are now ultimate rivals.
