Clay Guida Decline To File Any Charges Against Nate Diaz Following May Brawl

Clay Guida wouldn’t press charges against Nate Diaz as back in May both fighters were involved in an alleged crowd scuffle at Combate Americas in Sacramento, California. As per the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Shaun Hampton Guida refused to file the misdemeanor for battery against Diaz after he allegedly shoved the “Carpenter” from behind into metal barrier as a result young featherweight injured his lip. This news first reported by MMAJukie.

The case was assigned to detectives, who took statements from the involved parties while trying to determine probable cause for an arrest warrant. But with Guida declining to prosecute, the criminal investigation is concluded.

The reason for this altercation probably stemmed from Guida aggressively calling out Nate Diaz for a rematch from their first encounter at UFC 94 months before the incident. During his callout message, Guida used some insulting words, referring to Diaz as a “209 bitch,” in return seemingly Stockton Slapper even out things.

Guida last competed at UFC 225 in June, came up short to Charles Oliveira via first-round submission.

Diaz is slated to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 230, which is set to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 3rd. That will Diaz’s first showdown since losing a majority decision to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 back in 2016.
