Former ONE lightweight world champion Christian Lee looked to reclaim the lightweight crown from reigning titleholder Ok Rae Yoon. Lee dropped the title to Ok just under one year ago at ONE: Revolution. The two fights would run it back in the ONE 160 main event on Friday.
ONE 160: Ok Rae Yoon vs. Christian Lee II
Round 1
Both fighters come out aggressive with each trying to establish control of the ONE Circle. Ok immediately throws a left-right combination. He follows it up with a winging right hook that hits nothing, but air and a solid calf kick to Lee. ‘The Warrior’ responds with a short left that lands and a calf kick of his own. Lee lands another clean left back up Ok. Another left hits the mark for Lee as Ok attempts to, but is unable to land on the return fire. Ok lunges in with a right hand that misses and nearly eats an uppercut. Both fighters continue to trade leg kicks until Ok lands a solid left. Another left-right combo by Ok lands, but he pays for it with a head kick by Lee.
The fighters exchange strikes and Christian Lee lands a left hook followed by a right head kick backing up the champion. Lee swarms in as Ok retreats to the fence. Ok circles out and gets back to the center, but Lee’s pressure immediately backs him up again. Ok moves in throwing a right, but immediately eats a check-right followed by a massive overhand right by Lee. ‘The Warrior’ delivers a left, followed by a right dropping Ok to the mat. Lee throws a series of vicious knees to the South Korean’s head.
Wearing the damage on his face, Ok was able to get back to his feet. Circling the outskirts of the ONE Circle, Ok was content to simply survive the first round.
Round 2
Sensing the champion was quickly losing confidence, Christian Lee came out and quickly swarmed his opponent. Attempting to get his respect back, Ok lands a solid right. The champion leaves his head on the center line making an easy target for Lee who blasts the champion with a superman punch-calf kick combo. Moving in on his opponent, Lee drops Ok with an overhand right. ‘The Warrior’ seizes the moment, delivering a series of nasty knees to the head of Ok until the referee has no choice, but to call a stop to the action.
