Poor one out for the homie Shinya Aoki. Christian Lee is only 20 years old and he just blasted through a legend with his fists.
Today (May 17) in the main event of ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon in Singapore, Lee netted the biggest win of his young career.
Aoki is closing in on nearly 50 fights in his career and Father Time just was not feeling the JMMA legend at ONE.
Now 36 years old, Aoki has always been one of MMA’s best heels. Aoki is an asshole and he knows it, which makes it fun to root for him and against him.
No matter how many arms he breaks or middle finger he tosses up, Aoki will always be Team MiddleEasy. He’s our asshole and that’s just the way it is.
Coming in on a four fight winning streak, with four first round wins, Aoki had all the momentum stepping into the cage. The Dream and Pride vet even threatened Lee with a signature armbar in round one. This was Aoki’s fight to lose.
The funny thing about momentum in MMA, a few well placed punches to the chin will end all of that noise.
51 seconds into round two Lee did this.
Christian Lee (12-3) joins his sister in ONE's stable of champs, dethroning Shinya Aoki with a second-round comeback salvo! The 20-year-old lightweight king has stopped three straight and finished each of his wins, eight by knockout. #EnterTheDragon pic.twitter.com/HoGWkUDfd3

And another angle.
Sweet fight Jesus, why does every time Aoki lose it’s in the most violent of ways? When can Aoki go back to wearing Rainbow pants and instantly up his HP and defense attributes?
In one sequence Christian Lee went from mostly untested prospect to ONE lightweight champion. A passing of the torch via face punches was always how it was going to end for our Shinya Aoki.
