Cain Velasquez Charged With Attempted Murder After Bay Area Shooting

Cain Velasquez has been arrested.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion would be taken into police custody on Monday, where he allegedly shot a man in the Bay Area. He has been charged with attempted murder, according to a report from TMZ.

The shooting incident would occur on Monday afternoon, which reportedly left one man injured and taken to the hospital. The victim was shot near the intersection of Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue. The motive is not known at this time, according to San Jose Police Media Relations.

Velasquez has been taken to County of Santa Clara Department of Corrections facility. He was not granted bail, according to online records. 

He is set to appear in court on Wednesday.

The former UFC Heavyweight king last fought in 2019, where he suffered a quick KO loss to Francis Ngannou. In his time away from the Octagon, he has since stepped into the pro wrestling circuit. He has made appearances in WWE and even did some wrestling in Mexico.

  1. What’s wrong with this world when molesters are aloud to walk the streets and the victims family members do what should have been done gets jail!
    Our laws to not fit the crime! If you’re sick enough to take advantage of a child like that person did then the family should have every right to protect their children and track the molester down and do whatever they see fit! Good Job Cain for protecting your child the way you should have. You did nothing wrong and that piece of crap will get what karma sees fit! What a SICKO! I am so sorry for your child and hope she can recover so this doesn’t hurt or harm her in the future!
