Arman Tsarukyan is hoping to fight Michael Chandler next time out.

Chandler is coaching TUF 31 against Conor McGregor and will be holding out for that fight. However, Tsarukyan says he doesn’t think that fight happens, and once it doesn’t come to fruition, Tsarukyan believes the UFC will make him vs. Michael Chandler.

If the fight against Chandler does happen, Tsarukyan knows a win over the former Bellator champ would cement him as the number one contender.

“For sure, the UFC gonna give me Chandler. For me, it is the best fight because Chandler has hype, he has a big name. If I beat him, I’ll definitely be number one contender,” Tsarukyan said to Submission Radio. “A lot of people are going to watch that fight. Our fight, a lot of guys who are going to watch who knows UFC and MMA are going to watch it. Chandler is on a different level on social media, he talks a lot.”

‘Easy to Finish’

Part of the reason why Arman Tsarukyan wants to fight Michael Chandler is due to the fact he believes it is an easy fight for him.

Tsarukyan knows Chandler is dangerous in the first round and has KO power, but Tsarukyan believes he can outwrestle Chandler and tire him out and then get a stoppage win.

“Same gameplan like last fight. I’ll take him down, ground him and finish him the next round. He is dangerous in the first round. I got to hold him, I got to wrestle because he has a strong punch and is kind of dangerous, he is dangerous in the first round. He gets tired in the second and third rounds, it’s so easy to finish him like Poirier did,” Tsarukayn added.

Of course, as of right now, there is still no word on when Chandler vs. McGregor will happen or if it does at all. But, there is no question ‘Iron’ will wait for that fight as long as possible, so whether or not the Tsarukyan fight happens next is to be seen.
