- Roy Jones Jr. secured a stoppage win over NDO Champ in the first-ever Metaverse boxing match
- The 54-year-old has not won a fight since 2018
Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. pulled off a TKO stoppage win over social media star NDO Champ in the first-ever boxing match in the metaverse. However, fans were not pleased with how the fight played out.
A controversial win
At 54 years old, Jones Jr. proved that he can still trade punches and even beat younger opponents. On Friday, “Captain Hook” took on influencer and internet personality NDO Champ and scored a TKO stoppage victory in Round 7 of their metaverse boxing match.
A highlight of Jones Jr.’s win showed that he bombarded NDO Champ with punches and the referee stepped in and started counting. Clearly not wobbled, NDO Champ rushed back to engage with Jones Jr. again after the referee finished. However, the boxing legend was able to throw a flurry of punches once again, and even though NDO Champ appeared to be in a defensive stance, the referee in charge stopped the fight, declaring Jones Jr. as the winner via stoppage.
As expected, fans didn’t like how the match ended as they believe it may have been an early stoppage and NDO Champ wasn’t really in trouble when the referee called to stop the fight.

A nice Comeback
Jones Jr. hasn’t tasted a win since 2018 in both professional and exhibition matches. Even though it was in the metaverse, the victory over NDO Champ serves as a nice comeback for the former multi-division boxing champion.
Jones Jr. last fought professionally in April where he lost to former UFC champion Anthony Pettis via majority decision. Prior to that, Jones Jr. famously clashed with his fellow boxing legend Mike Tyson in an exhibition match that ended in a draw in 2020.
