  • Tom Aspinall thinks Francis Ngannou has a legit chance of beating Anthony Joshua
  • Both “The Predator” and AJ are looking for a knockout win

UFC Interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is backing Francis Ngannou to torch Anthony Joshua in their showdown.

Tom was wrong about Francis

Speaking to Breaking Beard podcast, Aspinall shared his thoughts on the much-awaited heavyweight boxing match between “The Predator” and AJ. Admittedly, Aspinall thought Ngannou was just a heavy-hitting heavyweight but after witnessing his boxing skills against Tyson Fury, he is now convinced that the former UFC champ could beat Joshua.

“I thought Francis Ngannou was just like a big, hard swinger,” Aspinall confided. “But he actually has legit boxing ability because Tyson’s ability is absolutely insane, he’s incredible. Still can’t believe it mate, I thought he was fantastic, and now we’re watching it, and it’s like ‘Sh*t, is he gonna beat AJ?’ I’m literally watching it, me, like, he could actually genuinely beat AJ. This is absolutely crazy.”

Both are going for a KO

Ngannou and Joshua are both brimming with confidence heading into their clash. The pair is eager to prove that they can win via knockout and finally shut all the naysayers up.

Ngannou is coming in looking to make the most of his second chance to beat an elite boxer. On the other hand, AJ is out to prove that he can take on anybody and hopefully put himself back in the position to compete for a world title.

As for Aspinall, UFC president Dana White had already verbally confirmed that he would take on the winner of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic title fight as “courtesy” to his interim title victory.
